Virgin Media Selects Motorola’s Ultra-Broadband Solution to Accelerate Delivery of Personalized Media Experiences
Motorola’s DOCSIS® 3.0 I-CMTS solution enables Virgin Media to deliver ultra fast broadband services

COLOGNE, Germany – ANGA Cable 2009 – May 26, 2009 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced that Virgin Media has deployed the Motorola CMTS solution to enable the delivery of rich personalized media experiences to customers in the UK. Currently delivering broadband speeds of up to 50 megabits per second, and capable of speeds up to 200 megabits per second, Virgin Media is the first service provider to deliver ultra fast broadband speeds in the UK.
Virgin Media selected the Motorola BSR 64000 Integrated-CMTS (I-CMTS) solution with TX32 decoupled downstream modules to support market-leading broadband speeds and take advantage of next-generation cable broadband standards such as DOCSIS 3.0® and channel bonding.
As the first company in the world to deploy channel bonding, Motorola has a scalable I-CMTS platform that creates opportunities for cable operators, such as Virgin Media, to increase bandwidth, enhance security, and evolve triple play voice and ultra-broadband data and video services.
