Geoff Roman is responsible for technology and innovation leadership, intellectual property creation and timely integration of new technologies to create new business opportunities as the lines between home and mobile applications blur.
Prior to his current role, Roman served as senior vice president of strategy and technology for the Motorola Home & Networks Mobility business. In this position, he managed the portfolio and strategy, business development, quality and technology organizations for the business, which provided video, voice and data solutions for wireline, cable television and wireless service providers. He previously served as corporate vice president of strategy and business development for the Connected Home Solutions business of Motorola.
During 2000, Roman joined Motorola as part of the acquisition of General Instrument Corp., where he was executive vice president, managing the company's worldwide sales, service, customer support and advanced development functions. He also served in several other senior roles with General Instrument. Earlier in his career, Roman worked for MITRE Corp. and the New York Telephone Co.
He earned master’s and bachelor's degrees in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Roman serves on the board of directors of the Combined Conditional Access Development and Support (CCAD) and Comcast Foundation, Conditional Access Licensing (CAL) joint ventures between Motorola and Comcast.
