John Burke is leading the team responsible for delivering breakthrough devices, software and services that enable carriers and service providers worldwide to offer converged media experiences to their subscribers. The comprehensive software portfolio includes Motorola Medios multi-screen service management, EDGE service assurance, SecureMedia DRM and 4Home managed services.

Previously, Burke was senior vice president and general manager of Broadband Home Solutions (BHS) for Motorola Mobility. BHS was the world’s leading supplier of digital entertainment devices and digital video networks for video service providers. The BHS portfolio included solutions to ingest, process, manage, merchandise, assure, protect and distribute digital media, as well as consumer-premise equipment (CPE) such as set-tops, cable/DSL modems and gateways, and media mobility accessories.

Burke has been an active participant in the dynamic home entertainment business for many years. He played a pivotal role in increasing Motorola’s market position in video domestically and internationally. Under his direction, Motorola transitioned its high-speed data business from proprietary products to become the leading player in the open-standard DOCSIS market.

Burke joined Motorola in 2000 with the acquisition of General Instrument Corp., where he spent 15 years in a variety of leadership positions, including corporate vice president and general manager of the Consumer Solutions Business and corporate vice president and general manager of Voice & Data CPE solutions.

John received his bachelor's degree in business administration from The Ohio State University, and a master's degree in management from Saint Joseph's University.

He is a frequent author and speaker on industry topics. Burke also is a member of Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), and the National Cable & Telecommunications Association (NCTA), where he represents Motorola Mobility on The Cable Show planning committee.
