SINGAPORE – Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT) today announced that it has been chosen by GTEK, a high growth telecommunications company in Vietnam, to supply its full portfolio of
enterprise wireless LAN (WLAN) infrastructure solutions for a number of projects that GTEK has won in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Two of its projects include the first 5-Star Hotels carrying the Mövenpick name brand in Vietnam. These include the Mövenpick Hotel Saigon and Mövenpick Hotel Hanoi. GTEK will be providing high speed internet access (HSIA) including Wireless HSIA for hotel guests as well as for internal hotel operations using
Motorola’s EWLAN solutions.
Another project is at Hung Vuong Plaza, the largest shopping and leisure mall in Vietnam located in the commercial hub of Ho Chi Minh City. Motorola will provide GTEK with equipment and services to design and deploy the network that will support the users of this complex, including residents of the apartments, shoppers and merchants in the shopping mall.
GTEK is fast emerging as an important telecommunications company with its focus on the ICT industry and especially High Speed Internet Access (HSIA) services sector in Vietnam.

GTEK plans to deploy the
RFS6000 and
RFS7000 and
WS5100 series enterprise-class
wireless switches at the customer locations. The solution will also use a variety of access points, such as the
AP300,
AP5131 and the new
802.11n-enabled AP7131s for indoor coverage as well as weatherproof
AP5181 mesh access points for outdoor coverage. For
backhaul needs, GTEK plans to use a combination of
Motorola’s MOTOwi4™ point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless broadband products. GTEK’s entire network will be secured and managed using Motorola’s Wireless Management suite to facilitate ease of management, security and the ability to meet customer’s Quality-of-Service (QoS) requirements.
